Activities and entertaining

Options to transport your delegates on an exhilarating journey through the spectacular landscape include touring towns, lakes and mountain passes by traditional horse and cart known as Jarvey’s. You can even use a fleet of them to provide transfers between accommodation and offsite dinners.

The region’s spectacular rugged mountains ranges, including Ireland’s highest mountain Carrauntoohil taking centre stage in the Macgillycuddy’s Reeks are ideally suited for guided cycling and hiking tours.

Food and drink

Kerry’s hotels, restaurants, cafes and pubs regularly win national awards for their cuisine. 

The region is home to some of the best local and artisan food producers in Ireland and with menu’s featuring the finest locally sourced ingredients, fresh from the surrounding ocean, fields and markets, delight your delegates taste buds with memorable ‘Taste of Place’ culinary experiences.

History and culture

The region offers a mixture of modern and tradition with 5-star hotels, adventure centres, festivals and events all set against a rugged landscape of prehistoric footprints, a designated UNESCO World Heritage site, Stone, Bronze and Iron Age Ruins and the soaring mountains, jutting headlands and breath-taking cliffs of the Wild Atlantic Way.

With its location on the very edge of Ireland, the innate and special culture of Kerry has been less susceptible to outside influences and has preserved the Irish language, traditional music, song and dance. European Outdoor Educators Conference

The EOE conference is the annual event of the European Institute for Outdoor Adventure Education and Experiential Learning. This was the first occasion that the event was held in Ireland and it was hosted by Munster Technological University (MTU) on its Tralee campus. MTU holds the UNESCO Chair in Inclusive PE, Sport, Recreation and Fitness.

The EOE Network is a vibrant association of outdoor education practitioners and academics from around Europe, with other delegates attending from across the globe. The three-day conference reflected that mix with practitioner case studies, practical workshops and academic presentations.
